If I actually filled this out I would feel pathetically under-read 😅
One thing I would have put in the pre2010 category is "The Salvation War"-- idk how big it was in raw readership (and it definitely wasn't "good") but i think it was fairly influential
Actually, filling out the form, turns out i read at least *something* from every year up until 2018. I'm sure this is not a coincidence-- 2018 was the year I started writing web serials, and so my standards rose precipitously after that lmao.
As the thing that got me back from fanfic purgatory, I have to rep Cultivation Nerd for having enough interesting things going on, whether that's the background lore, cultivation-related hyperfixation, how did the mc end up like this, or the battlebro thing that he has with SS, to justify its original placement.
My friend shared this with me with "This produced in me an immense wave of fuckor, and I think you will also appreciate it". I mostly dodged said fuckor entirely almost entirely due to the absence of The Fall of Doc Future (and it's 1.5 sequels and 0.5 prequels), which is both very good and was popular enough to hit the scoreboard on TopWebFiction while it was being actively published from 2012-2019.
I tried to avoid "author posts an entire pre-written novel on the Internet" to keep the list "purer". My real motivation was that 12 works per year is already extremely crammed and I have to cut something.
(If I'm wrong and Doc Future isn't like that, whoops, that'd be a candidate to replace Dreaming of Sunshine then)
Alright, thanks, there definitely needs to be a v3 of the table anyway since I got the year wrong for Azarinth Healer, so you can expect to see Doc Future on there soon.
Solid list! I got 55/156 admittedly including a number of stories a gave up on reasonably quickly.
In terms of popularity I think it might make sense to include a few more of the most popular xianxia (I shall Seal the Heavens, Renegade Immortal, Coiling Dragon). Although in terms of quality I can't say I would recommend any of these based on the parts I have read.

Doc Future was written as it was published, with only a handful of chapters from book one prewritten.

I did this and posted to twitter! Thank you for making it!
